Dr. Turnure established Turnure Medical Group in the year 2000 with the goal of providing excellent and extraordinary medical care in an environment where patients feel welcome and accepted.
Our physicians are Board Certified in the specialties of Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obesity Medicine and Urology. Being a multi-specialty group we believe that it is important to treat the "whole person" which means that your emotional well being is just as important as your physical well being. Raymond Turnure, M.D.
Dr. Turnure received his medical degree and did his residency training at Loma Linda University in Southern California. He also served as Chief Resident while completing his residency in Family Medicine. Before starting Turnure Medical Group he worked as an Associate Clinical Professor at the UC Davis/Sutter Family Medicine Residency Program. He is board certified in both Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine.
In addition to the broad spectrum of Family Medicine, Dr. Turnure has sub-specialized in Neurological Rehabilitation of stroke, cerebral palsy and traumatic brain-injured patients. He is actively involved in researching the most effective techniques and modalities available in treating these conditions. He also has done additional training in the field of Medical Weight Loss. He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Society of Bariatric (Obesity) Physicians as well as the Christian Medical & Dental Society.
Dr. Turnure thoroughly enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his 3 daughters and wife. He enjoys fishing, boating, snow skiing and running. He did his first marathon in 2012. He and Mrs. Turnure are also very involved in leadership in the community.
Thomas Stafford, MD
Dr. Stafford is board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston where he was awarded the Martin J. Loeb Memorial Prize in Medicine for “academic achievement and evidence of basic human qualities.” Being originally from California he moved back and did his residency at the University of Southern California. In 2012 he was honored by the USC medical students with the “Excellence in Teaching” award. He is currently an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.
After completing his residency, Dr. Stafford worked for Kaiser Permanente, expanding his skills at their busy pediatric clinics and urgent care centers in the Los Angeles area. He also continued working for USC and Los Angeles County in a heavily trafficked downtown urgent care.
Dr. Stafford has a passionate commitment to children and their well being. Over the years he has worked at children’s camps, mentored students, and volunteered caring for children overseas. This passion was evident at such a young age that on his 16th birthday Dr. Stafford received a toy from a close friend who told him to “put it in his pediatric office one day.”
His love of medicine and people from all walks of life has kept Dr. Stafford passionate about his adult patients as well. He is a fan of patient-centered medicine, understanding that every person has their own unique life circumstances and health challenges. He believes the best physician-patient relationships are patient-motivated, and have the clear and simple goal of the patient’s best health...period.
Outside of work Dr. Stafford enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Amy, his newborn son Luke and his sweet little dog, Gracie. He loves the outdoors and has completed the Boston Marathon and several triathlons around the country.
Kimberly Perkins, M.D.
Dr. Perkins is a Board Certified, second-generation family physician (her father is a physician in Albuquerque, New Mexico). She attended the University of New Mexico where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as her medical degree. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the University of California at San Diego and then became a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She joined Turnure Medical Group in 2009 after relocating from Arizona. She came with over 17 years of experience with a particular interest in Preventive Medicine and Women's Health. As a mother herself she enjoys caring for the whole family. She is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Perkins and her family love living in sunny California where they enjoy the beauty of the area doing outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, skiing and swimming. She is married to Michael and has a son Sam who is in High School and a daughter Sheila who attends UC San Diego as a pre-med student. Her dream is to be a doctor like her mother. Dr. Perkins enjoys music, scrap booking, exercise, reading, traveling and watching her kid's sporting events. She is also active in her church mentoring young moms.
David Couillard, M.D.
Dr. Couillard is a Board Certified Urologist specializing in Female Pelvic Reconstruction & Incontinence, Pediatric Urology, Laparoscopy & Urologic Oncology and Advance Stone Surgery & Endourology. He attended the University of Vermont, College of Medicine and did his surgery Internship at George Washington University and finished up his Residency at the University of California at Davis. He went on further and did a Fellowship in Urodynamics (Female & Reconstructive Urology) at Duke University Medical Center. At UC Davis he worked with Resident Physicians teaching and lecturing in the vast field of Urology. He came to Turnure Medical Group in 2009 with over 24 years of experience and being very well respected in the community. He is also our first sub-specialist to come on board giving us the designation of a multi-specialty group.
Dr. Couillard is married to Patricia Fone, M.D. also a Urologist. They often assist each other in extensive surgeries. Their dream was to travel the world but life got busy and now they have 3 active children--Eric, Nicole and Michelle. He enjoys ice hockey, snow skiing, attending King's basketball games and coaching all three kid's soccer teams.
Vance VanTassell, M.D.
Dr. VanTassell decided to enter the medical profession when he was 16 years old, based on his enjoyment working in the Emergency Room as an orderly. He is a graduate of UC Davis and went to Oral Robert's University School of Medicine. He returned to the ER, his "first love" when he entered the Emergency Medicine Residency program at Maricopa Medical Center in Arizona where he was honored to be chosen as Chief Resident and voted Outstanding Senior resident by the faculty. Dr. VanTassell is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. VanTassell served as Clinical Instructor in Emergency Medicine for the UC Davis Emergency Medicine residency training program. While training residents he was honored with the Resident's Teaching Award. In August of 1994 Dr. VanTassell was driving home after a night shift at the ER, he stopped at the side of the rode to assist a car wreck victim. He made the local news after performing an emergency cricothyrotomy on the trapped victim. It was a miracle that the victim survived and they have stayed in contact for years afterwards.
After 23 years in the ER, Dr. VanTassell joined Turnure Medical Group to start an Urgent Care. The VanTassell’s and Turnure’s have known each other since Dr. Turnure was in medical school, so working together seemed like a natural transition. His addition to the group continues to expand the group’s commitment to serving the community with excellent patient care now available after hours. He is passionate about helping patients those and he loves to teach the staff new things about Emergency Medicine.
Dr. VanTassell is married to Candice and they have 4 grown children and two grandchildren. He and his family enjoy the awesome beauty of Yosemite, Tahoe and the Mendocino Coast. They seem to be dog magnets and regularly have up to 5 pooches tearing up their yard. Their strong faith in God and involvement in their church has always been foundational to their lives.
Natasha Mikitiuk, B.A. Nutritionist
Natasha has been with the practice since 2004. Starting out as a file clerk, she truly understands all aspects of the practice. Being the daughter of Dr. Turnure, she has been interested in healthcare since she was a little girl. Her life long love of medicine (inspired by her father) sent her to Sacramento State University to pursue her Bachelor's degree in nutrition. She is an active member of the American Society of Bariatric (Obesity) Physicians.
Her warm personality is especially appreciated by patients. She will not only help you lose weight, but will also teach you how to eat healthy and exercise effectively, and if you don't need to lose weight but just want to learn how to eat right and exercise properly she also offers general nutritional counseling. If you are ready to change your lifestyle she can design a program that is customized for you.
Natasha is married to Emil Mikitiuk. They enjoy traveling, the beach, playing basketball and attending sports events together. She also loves to trail run with her father.
Camie Turnure, CFO, Business Operations Manager
Camie met Dr. Turnure her freshman year at Vanguard University in Southern California. They both graduated in 1988. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English. After graduation she started her own insurance business. While this career supported the family during medical school it also gave her the experience she needed to assist Dr. Turnure in starting a medical practice.
When the Turnure's relocated to Northern California, Camie sold her insurance business. It was shortly after that she became very ill during a pregnancy and later diagnosed with Lupus. Although these trials were very difficult it has given her more compassion for people and allowed her and Dr. Turnure to grow stronger as a couple. This is what inspired Camie to become very interested in the medical field. She and Dr. Turnure work well as a team. They both love people and helping them is what they do best.
As a mother of three girls, Camie is passionate about mentoring moms to be the best that they can be. She is the Director of a program called ARMs (About Real Moms) at Destiny Christian Church because she knows that every mom needs guidance and support. See www.destinyrocklin.com/arms. Kathy Goodrich, Office Manager
Kathy's journey with Turnure Medical Group started in 2006. Recognizing her leadership qualities, attention to detail and love for people Turnure Medical Group is very fortunate to have her as their Office Manager.
As a Bay Area transplant her and her husband Brian enjoy living in Rocklin with their two daughters who both graduated from Whitney High School and attend local colleges in the area. When not at work she loves to snow and water ski as well as going on camping trips with the family. She also has an amazing love for animals, especially cute puppies.Kathy along with her wonderful staff have a desire for every patient at Turnure Medical Group to feel special. As a mother herself she knows the importance of the patient-doctor trust relationship. She takes a personal responsibility of making sure that your relationship with with Turnure Medical Group is worry free.
